LO1 Task 1: games company research and Sumo Digital

I will be looking into two games companies and gathering some information about them. Also I will be looking at:


    Team Cooper


    Team Cooper began in 2006 as a one man providing flash development to agencies. Since then the team has grown to eight members of staff and use new and creative technologies to create playful experiences.

    The Team
    • Tim Cooper: Managing Director- has been with the company since June 2006
    • Emma Cooper: Business Development Director- has been with the company since may 2008
    • Kyle Rodgers: Developer- has been with the company since may 2008
    • Russell Stearman: Lead Developer- has been with the company since may 2010
    • Adam Clay: Illustrator/ Animator- has been with the company since January 2011
    • John Hunter: Team Assistant/ Content Writer- has been with the company since September 2011
    • Simon Morris: Developer- has been with the company since May 2012 (As Permanent staff)
    • Angelique Williams: Project Manager- has been with the company since January 2013


    Sumo Digital

    Sumo Digital was formed in 2003 by Carl Cavers, Paul Porter, Darren Mills and James North-Hearn. A Part of the Foundation 9 Entertainment group Sumo Digital is an independent games company/studio and opened after the fall of infogrames interactive. The company based in Sheffield,(Attercliffe) UK and Employ over 170+ experienced staff who most have been working together for the last 12 years. Sumo Digital work on many different gaming platforms like Sony PSP, PS2 and PS3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Xbox and Nintendo Wii and DS and with there large 10 year investment in tools and technology they can ensure quality product delivered on budget and in a timely fashion. sumo are currently working on many games Across many different gaming platforms including PS3, PS3 EDI, Xbox 360, PSP and Nintendo DS. Sumo digital target certain games to work on like a lot of other independent gaming companies and with this have gained key experience on Racing games, License Products, Sports Products, Arcade Style games, Original Products, Cross Platform Development and New Technology transition.
    We currently have several titles in production, including work on PS3, PS3 EDI, Xbox 360, PSP and Nintendo DS.
